2005 2L TDI PD140

Featured Replies

Off to bed in a mo and don't have time to research,

I've seen a 2005 2L TDI PD140 Octavia Elegance Estate that I like and going to look at when I finish my night shifts on Tuesday morning.

What I want to know is?? What have you done to yours and what are your experiences?

* Remaps?

* Brake Upgrades?

* Suspension Upgrades?

* Towbars with dual electrics?

It allready has maxidot and built in satnav :) not to mention Full leather interior with heated seats :) :)

I'm no stranger to mk1 octavias but never looked to much into the mk2's. All of my money will no doubt be spent @ Awesome (tried and trusted garage for the last 3 years) although Shark Performance are just down the road too so you never know.

Cheers All

Matthew

This realy has made a big difference to both comfort and cournering

and a decent 'smooth' remap will make the car much more drivable without impacting MPG - as Shark is close his maps seem to be highly regarded. Viezu (Bromsgrove) also do smooth maps but they do not seem to provide quite as much real power as they claim but the car is much smoother and quicker than standard.

Standard 288mm brakes are pretty good - good enough for track sessions in my experience but MK5 Golf GTI/MK2 VRS 312s will fit using standard calipers (they are the same as the VRS) with new carriers and discs

just a quick line to say for towing Indespension in Leeds fitted me a detachable towbar with minmal rear bumper cutting at best price I could find anywhere by quite a bit,They are on National Road at Hunslet,easy to get to from Wakefield.

As for remap had my 2 litre PD done on Friday by Ben at Shark, fantastic driveability and extra zip

Just had mine mapped at Angel yesterday :thumbup: has alot more go and drivablity improved :D

As for brakes, i THINK i read that Porsche 996 brakes fit JUST under 17's.................could be wrong...............;)

cheers guys.

I miss my old car and new I wouldn't be away for long and much of the tuning on mk1 vrs's are interchange able with the mk1 tdi's and likewise the same applies to the mk2.

My biggest concern is wanting to lower/stiffen the suspension but at the same time keep it suitable for towing a caravan, coilovers sound ideal with adjustable ride height but I don't want a rock solid ride as the car allready has 17" pegasus alloys.

Here's looking forward to Tuesday and hoping a deal can be reached :thumbup:

Brakes you can put 312mm up front by just getting new discs and calliper carriers (just the carriers not the callipers)

The sports suspension is pretty stiff already, so you might well be happy with that as it stands.
