Half-Life 2...Wheres the CD-Key?

Featured Replies

As above, I can't seem to find the CD-Key...is there supposed to be a manual in the box...all I got was the disc and a quick reference card.

I'm probably just being daft and overlooking it completely, but help would be appreciated.

I got mine online using steam so can't help too much, although I did read that there was no manual supplied apart from the quick start guide.

Is there nothing on the CD case itself? Have you googled?

Have you authenticated it yet?

No crashes as yet, but I have had to drop the sound to med quality, or it seems to stutter a lot. Disk is defragged. Running it on an Athlon 3000+ with 1GB and a radeon 9800 pro, so don't think it's the system...also using 5.1 surround...anyone else had problems?

Ive had a couple of crashes (I think sound related) but otherwise is all ok. Am loving HL2, especially running high detail.

My system:

AMD FX53

ATI X800 Pro

1024 mb RAM

2 x 120mb H/D (Raid 0)

Sound blaster Audigy 6.1 ZS

Creative Megaworks 550 5.1

Sharp LL-172G-B 17" tft

Yep me too. According to Valve forums it's a known problem, stuttering sound when entering new areas/turning/following a quicksave, and it's to do with graphical texture threshing  rather than the actual sound itself.

A patch is supposedly imminent...hope it doesn't get as delayed as HL2 itself :thumbdwn:

There is a patch for the stuttering sound available. At least you can play it. I've gotta wait till I get back home as I've got a decent gfx card at home, this laptop is running W2K and it's 'corporated' - read they've f*cked the settings GRRR and the drivers are too old to work properly.

It should look pretty decent ;)
