17'' audi tt comps

Featured Replies

right then, ive seen quite a few fabia vrs' with these fitted, like them myself so thought id give them a try myself, hoping to pick them up this wk sometime, my question is do i need the std tt bolts or will my std's fit? and do they go straight on or do i need spacers or anything else for that matter? and finally [takes a breath] which tyre size is best to go for? 205-40-17 or 215-40-17?

cheers in advance guys/gals

all i can comment on is the tyre size, youd be best going for 205 so that they arent sticking out!

They'll bolt straight onto a Fabia vRS no spacers required. 205/40/17 tyres, although these offer no rim protection as SWMBO discoverd much to my disappointment when I fitted my newly refurbed Comps to her roomster to see what they looked like :swear:

If you're having them refurbed they may well need some gentle persuasion to fit the hubs due to increased paint thickness ;)

They dook look great B)

nice healthy drop helps to give it the stance

I have a 215 tyre on my 7.5 x 17 rims and I find them a better fit then the 205.

Ok so they cost more and "stick out" a bit over the rim but this offers the rims some protection in the event of a kerbing and also provide more grip - with their larger footprint.

Ben.

have 205's on front and 215's on rear the 205's do look better on the rim with alittle stretch

Why have the wider tyre on the back where all the weight is? ... oh wait... :giggle:

215/40/17's get my vote

the 205's look a little stretched which isnt my cuppa :)

cheers guys, kinda fancy the stretched look but would like it to be protected slightly incase the mrs drives it emoticon-0136-giggle.gif [just kidding love] does it make a great deal of difference to the handling ? oh and nobody actually mentioned if i need the tt wheel bolts or if my std 1's will fit? anyone confirm either way?

As you wish sir B)

Problem with 205`s, it feels like its running on the sidewalls when cornering hard. 215`s solve the problem.

hi mark glad u got a set of tt comps

as for tyres u can check her to see which is best size

differents sizes throughs ur speedo out! bout half way down the link

put the size u have on now and then the size u want to go

and hit calculate to find difference hope this helps

My link

go 215's trust me!!

and to answer your question use the standard FABIA bolts

these work with all OEM VAG wheels, audi, vw, seat, skoda wheels :)

even some aftermarket jobbies too

same bolts do the job...

215's look better imo but will give +13mm diameter which gives very slight less acceleration...205's are + 5mm so little effect.

looks quite tidy emoticon-0103-cool.gif

Depending on your priorities, you can try 205/45s on the 17s.

Little brother did this on his Ibiza FR to gain a little respite from shocks and bumps.
