Wheel spacing

Featured Replies

I've got some wheel spacers ion my garage with longer bolts just lying around.

Would there be any performance benefit in fitting them? Wider stance IE better grip/less roll or anything like that?

Since they're there, I might as well put them to use....

more strain on wheel bearings ...forget the idea if they aint needed...

I'm only talking small spacing IE 10mm max, I had them on my old car for well over a year /15k miles

VAG wheel bearings aint the strongest on the go, and spacers will load the bearings by quite a bit. Without adjusting the non adjustable camber angle, really a waste of time mate. :D

Fair enough :) i'll clean them up and stick them up for sale and use the money to contribute towards RARB :D

i have been thinkin of going 10mm with spacing on the rear. have u tried them on?

i want to see how they look with a 7j on the rear!

I've noticed a bit more grip round bends, and its a bit more settled on the motorway....10mm to the rear, other than that they seem to do the same thing as the car did without them...seem to run fine :)

its psychological ;)

its psychological ;)

haha maybe:P

I used to run 20mm spacers on each side at the rear of my Ibiza, looked the tits and helped with stability!

haha maybe:P

what width are your rims mate? have seen your thread about them thier nice!

their 215 x 40 profile tyres on them.

I used to run 15mm fronts and 20mm rears on mine.

Within 4k one of the front bearings went (Nearside)

Wether the spacers contributed in speeding up the process i dont know, but it looked good with the oem wheels.
