Octavia VRS Superchips Remap

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Superchips claim to be able to give me an extra 40bhp on top of the stock 200 i have in my 2.0 TFSI VRS engine. My question is will the extra power mean that any other components will need to be modified to handle this? Also, are superchips recommended?

Thx for any responses.

A standard car is adequately equipped to handle a stage 1 remap from a reputable supplier with no problems at all.

We have a lot of experience tuning the 2.0TFSI and would be happy to help with any queries you have, infact I have a 2.0TFSI vRS myself :)

Cheers

would have to agree you would be more wise going to someone like ben and get it remapped suerchips havent got the best name in the market

had bluefin on my TFSI vRS at stage 1, 2 and 2+ and it was good until i tried the other available options and realised how poor the delivery was in comparison. i then let ben (shark_90) map my car and never looked back. there are alot of bad experiences of bluefin around the forums(also some positives) but im yet to see anyone unhappy with their shark map. plus you can have the handset as well

With regards to the 40 bhp increase as stated on shark performance.co.uk , is that extra power output evenly spread over the full rev range or is it remapped to my preference such as top end speed or low end torque? :)

It's very evenly spread with a fair bit of increased pull at the top end (where the standard car is quite breathless). Here's a graph that should display it a little better (click on the thumbnail to enlarge):

Cheers for info mate. I'll probably be in contact soon to get it done then. Do you remap according to preference or is it the same blanket remap for all 2.0TFSI engines that come in?

We can cater for anything but if your car has no mods or only bolt on mods, then a pre-developed map is the way forward, with tweaks to your car if required

Really interesting curve, seems very different to standard and other remaps I've seen (which tend to mirror the normal curve but just an extra ~20% everywhere)! I'm guessing the benefits of a curve like that is that it's kinder to drivetrain components as the power comes in smoothly as you gain revs, rather than just a huge lump of torque around 2500k?

Is that an 'off the shelf' map you can offer Ben?

Cheers!

Smoother is faster  We're not big on torque spikes or general aggressiveness but prefer to make the car pull cleanly and smoothly.

That graph is from one of our developed maps and so yes, even with the STS you'd be getting the same software

Cheers for the info, good to know!

One last quick one... the graph you posted, are the units for torque Nm or ft lbs? Thanks!

The units in the graph are lb/ft

Is that graph from a stage 2 map?

No, that graph is from our stage 1 map on 56OctyvRS's car. I would say the graph is more important than the figures

That graph looks familiar lol I can confirm that it is smooth and is awesome to drive. The best investment I have made on the car to date :)emoticon-0148-yes.gif
