Hi

I bought a 2001 Fabia Comfort 8v last week. As I drove it home the engine light came on. When I tried to use it a few days later the power steering had gone and the airbag light was on. The EPC light also made a brief appearance.

This is the first Fabia I have owned so I am at a loss as to what has happened and why.

I had a look at the battery (for want of any other ideas!) and its a Type 063, 44AH, 440 Amps SAE KG9103. I can't find out much about it as there is no make on it only a website address. Is this the correct battery for my car? And are the problems related above anything to do with the battery?

I will have to take the car to the garage tomorrow but I wanted a bit of advice before I do.

yes it is battery related, the fabia has an electric power steering pump so a dodgy connection or a duff battery will prevent it from functioning correctly

The garage think it's the pump that's gone. So rather more daunting than a battery! I hope this will fix the problem but my luck's not been in so far.
