Can the various VCDS-like software tools out there enable any of the software functions that would normally be factory upgraded at purchase?

I am thinking of things like;

Dipping of the side mirrors when reverse engaged.

Uphill start off assist (hill hold control) (on the 4x4s)

Enabling dual rear fog lights (I believe on some cars only one is activated by default in the UK)

Tyre Pressure Monitor (with the appropriate h/w switch)

Or is the VCDS mainly for diagnostics of faults?

Wrt to the dipping mirrors, if one had electrically adjustable mirrors already what additional hardware would you think it should need? Surely its a matter of when the ECU sees the transmission is in reverse it activates the mirror motors?

Like muckypaws I was wondering about enabling hidden items.

The things i was considering were:

Being able to select weather to unlock all the doors at once, not in my MFD menu

Is it possible to activate auto wipers, as I believe it uses the same sensor as the auto lights.

Would be handy to know if these are just simple prog additions, and if this is the case, are there any other items that can be unlocked and added.

Any advice much appreciated

Selective unlocking can be done with VCDS (im surprised it can't be done on the MFD).

Auto wipers, well SWMBO's MK5 Golf has it and the auto lights, so i would of thought it could be done, however the MKI Superb (Comfort at least) has auto wipers but not auto lights.

Find someone local with VCDS and get it plugged in

Yes thats because the door motors/ controlling units need to have the memory function before it can send the "reversing position" to the mirror motors.

I enabled my cornering foglights on my VRS with VCDS, but I have not experimented with anything much more than that.

Oh and the emergency braking hazard lights...

No it's not im afraid

I've enabled DRL's on the spare bulb next to the front fogs, Cornering lights and CHL / LHL (although CHL / LHL don't work for some reason - not had a chance to use VAG COM for a while).

Will have to check Emergency Braking lights and dual rear fogs.

Is there anything else anyone can think of? I'm driving a 10 plate Octy Elegance Estate.

I've got a MY2011 Octy Scout that I'd like to enable dual rear fogs on. I have a genuine VCDS cable and am running the latest 10.61 software, but for the life of me can't see the option to make this change. I have been able to make other changes such as needle sweep (AKA staging), so I'm pretty sure the software and cable are working. Could anyone here step me through the dual rear fog enabling process?
