Bodywork stickers ?

Featured Replies

We got our new Octy Estate just over 2 weeks ago.

Today as we approached the car my wife noticed that on each side of the car, in front of the rear wheel arches, there are large body-coloured stickers.

You don't notice it from a distance, but closer up you can definitely see the white edges of the stickers. Once side is worse than the other.

Anyone got the same ? any thoughts as to why?

I took a pic with my phone but can't find the cable to link to the PC

Normal.

Mine has some air bubbles in them :S

These are supposed to be there. I believe they help protect the paint against stone chips. I have them on my pe FL VRS too.

Yep perfectly normal. Is an area of bodywork prone to stone chips, so add extra protection for the paint.

My 2005 Octy had them and after 5 years were still almost invisible on both sides although showing signs of stone damage on the surface, as already mentioned without them that area will become stone damaged very quickly. The white edges are most likely wax that has not been removed properly.

thanks for putting my mind at ease.

There have been bits of wax I've rubbed off from elsewhere - maybe it needs a proper clean.

Yup, the stickers are clear, not body coloured and the white is polish / wax due to not taping over the edges whilst working on the paint.

Use a damp cocktail stick to remove it
