Octavia VRS Service

Featured Replies

Not too sure if this is the right place to put this post?

I'm going to get "my baby" Octy Vrs 2004 mk1 serviced next week - Does anbody know of a decent "Skoda/german" garage/mechanic in the Dewsbury area?

Ive got some NGK PFR6Q Laser Platinum spark plugs £23 - any suggestions if they will do the job?

I'm now pricing a fuel, oil and air filter - any suggestions on prices/how much( just want mid range parts enough to keep it purring)

oh and some oil - Ive been encouraged to buy "long life" whatever that is? Any reccomendations on oil please - what grade n how much for a change.......... and ££ please?

Thanks y'all

Shak

Good to see another local on board  Welcome to Briskoda. Hopefully you should find your answer in other places on the site. I've only ever used Skoda dealers for service so I can't help with your question I'm afraid

Hey Shak,

Not sure if you still need this, but there's a decent garage in huddersfield, and one in leeds, but i'm not sure about Batley unfortunately..

Spark Plugs: The PFR6Q's are the OEM plug anyway, so they're fine, should last a while too.

As for oil and filters etc, the genuine ones are cheap enough to get from the main dealers. No point going with cheap ones when you get get the proper ones for not much more. The oil you use depends on the service schedule your vrs is on. If it is still on longlife service, you need the longlife oil, which is about £40 IIRC (5w30 or 0w30, spec VW503.00, or VW504.00), and should last 2 years. If you are gonna change the oil every year, you can get away with normal oil, so long as it meets the VW502.00 spec (usually 5w40). Again, use the oil from the delaers for this, it's usually cheaper than the likes of halfords anyway.

Hope this helps.

Welcome along Shak. I can help you out with a decent place in Liversedge to get your service bits from.

~I'll keep an eye out for you as I'm always around Batley and Dewsbury
