lighting board

You will need to add the towbar wiring socket, but I just scotch-lock it into the loom near to the CD changed on my estate.

I have a feeling you might be able to get a proper Skoda kit that plugs in between the light cluster and the loom (guess it needs to connect on both sides for L & R tail lights, and indicators, but that will probably cost mega bucks (might only be available for Octy 2, not 100% sure).

I am guessing you are using a hang-on carrier, where as I have a tow-ball one... much better as it tips so I can still get into the boot :-)

Nooo! I hate those things; you are adding unreliability.

You can get a proper kit for the MkI; I have it on mine. It wasn't that expensive. (40 quid?)

You have to buy the proper version with silicone grease inside to stop corrosion. These are used by BT and others who need long life and reliability.
