Slight Judder coming to a halt with DSG?

Featured Replies

Having never driven any other DSG car (apart from a brief test drive) I'm not sure if this is normal. When I pull up to a stop gently (sometimes even just feathering the brakes) it seems like I can detect a slight judder through the controls. Almost like the engine is about to stall then something "dips the clutch" and stops it. If I brake harder I don't feel it at all.

Is this normal? perhaps something needs adjusting?

it's a shark mapped 2010 FL vRS 2.0TSi by the way. (makes no difference with or without the map).

Its the car declutching just before it stalls, the most efficient way of driving

Agreed it's the car declutching but I've never really noticed a juddering when coming to a halt in my car, maybe a very slight lurch when slowing down gently in the manner described earlier, I too put it down to the car declutching just when it detects the speed is falling below idle speed.

Mine does the exact same thing, FL 2.0 TSI DSG, it was a bit disconcerting initially, but i`m used to it now

My 1.8 7 speed dsg has no symptoms whatsoever like that - totally smooth silent transitions at all times - especially a low speeds, in stop start traffic etc.

No judder on mine...

thanks all. sounds like some notice it and some don't. Nothing much to worry about anyway.
