Handbrake Warning Light and Beep

Featured Replies

Hi folks....

I've an 06 fabia vRS and the handbrake warning light is flashing and always a warning beep too(really annoying). On further inspection, I've noticed leaking brake fluid all over the front end of the car. I've topped up th e brake fluid as advised by a friend who said doing so would stop the flash and the beep(which I have done and still beeping like mad!)

I have Audi TT 312mm brakes on rather than OEM by the way.

Brakes and clutch all working fine, I've done a few emergency stops on private ground and brakes are as normal.

Any help would be fab....thanks in advance

Brake fluid leaks of any kind are bad. The leak source needs to be identified and fixed.

yes as above, sort it or DIE your choice!!

did you fit the TT hoses (longer) when you fitted the 312's?? could be your issue

Yeah changed the hoses too at the time. There does seem to be alot of fluid.....think I'll just leave it parked up till my mechanic is free!!

Also camshaft sensor gone according to vagcom my friend said. Is this a big job?

Hi Kev

Am I not missing the point ! (handbrake warning light is flashing and always a warning beep too) have you not tried the handbrake switch ?

and ref the brake fluid, could it not be just over flowing when you pushed the pistons back when you did the brakes ??

Good logic.

Try the handbrake on and off with the ignition on. does the handbrake light come on and go off ? - if no then change the handbrake switch. if yes then look elsewhere.

Hi,

I also have the beeping and handbrake sensor flashing. It started after I spilt oil whilst topping it up in the dark.

  • 6 years later...

still no resolve listed i to have same problem

Throw us a bone.  What things have you checked?

brake fluid full ,all pads done , light works as it should hand brake on and off  ok ,  i drive off sometimes it will try to go limp mode then the light starts flashing 3 bleeps then its ok ,sometimes i have to stop  because no 3 bleeps and stays in limp ,restart drive 3 bleeps flashing light then ok can drive normally  intermittent ,dint do it for 3 days then started again today ?

PS It is the dsg Automatic, if that makes a difference ? When i say limp mode i am  assuming ? it goes from 1st gear & tries  to go into 2nd  but jumps back to 1st

What year Fabia is it?

Oh, so it's an Octy.

Golf running gear, not Polo, it's probably related to the DSG and there'll be a code stored.
