Front wishbone mounting bushes going soft

Featured Replies

]

I have 2 year old Fabia 1.4TDI with 20,000 miles on the clock. Just had the annual service, and have been told that the front suspension wishbone mounting bushes are getting soft and this is causing the rapid tyre wear on the front end.

I spoke to Skoda customer services and their Tech support specialist who insist that this is a wear and tear issue not a warranty issue.

I have driven the car carefully and would not expect this to happen so soon. Surely components should outlast the warranty

Has anyone else experienced this, and can anyone advise me how to convince Skoda to replace the bushes for free under the warranty.

Cheers

The bushes on a fabia are a bit of a weak spot, most users on this forum have had this problem! Including me @ £117.75.

I think some people have managed to get this done under warranty but this depends on the underwriters, but I doubt that It will be covered under warranty especialy concidering the state of the roads & the economy.

If you do have to pay for them to be replaced try to get the seat leon cupra R bushes as they will last much longer!

Hope this helps!

HI

You tend to find the bushes are worn

That means wear and tear is not covered by warranty I am afraid

As has been said , the majotity go for the Cupra bushes

But not the LCR , But the Ibiza Cupra , as it is the sampe platfom
