Need HELP

Featured Replies

The wife has a N reg citroen synergie 2.0 petrol recently its started to idle fast when cold i have been told by citroen it could be the idle stepper motor needs a clean or replacing does anyone know where i will find this in the engine or even any other sugestion to what the prob could be. Thanks for any help.

had the same problem on my old R19 16v, problem can be caused by the idle speed valve or stepper motor as some other manufacturers call it. normally this is bolted to the side of the throttle body. cleaning with an alcohol based cleaner is best but make sure you give it a good fluch with WD40 after wards.

other cause can be a dodgey coolant temp sensor, these are normally near the thermostat housing.

best thing to do is get yourself a haynes manual.
