audi pepperpots on a fab

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have just wrecked a tyre on my 17s after hitting a pot hole and am totally discusted, so much so that im thinking of binning the 17s in favor of some thing that actually has some tyres lol

was looking around and have found a mint set of audi a3 alloys [ not bought them yet ]and was wondering what they would look like on a fab.... did the usual search on here for pics but couldnt find any...

any one any thoughts?

the A3 wheels are Size - 6JX15" and am thinking of 195/50 15s do you think it will look ok on the furby?

If you take a picture of the pot hole and damages you can claim the money back off the council  theres a website for that.. but I dont seem to remember what it is.. let me have a dig..

Edit: lol wow 2 second google search - http://www.potholes.co.uk/claims/how_to_claim

HTH, Unless it was just an excuse to change the rims..

Interesting read. :) I can see a lot of this happening now ... the local council's lead time on repairing sections that I've reported has varied between 2 weeks (initially) and 4 months (now) - the 4 months was for a 1' x 2-3', 2"+ deep cavern that was unavoidable without going on the wrong side of the road..! :(

I picked up my pepperpots this morning and got some KUMO 195 / 50/ 15s fitted as I thought this would be the ideal tyre size.... ( I remember someone on here talking about tyre sizes before for that wheel)

anywho... Im just concerned that the tyre might be too wide for the 6j rim!!! To my eyes it looks as if the tyre is about to pop off the rim..

will try and get a few pics up sharpish...

any thoughts on the tyre size / rim combo?

195/50/15 is the correct tyre size for your car, and they look fine on your wheels. I'm sure somebody else on here fitted a set onto their vRS as winter wheels with winter tyres. Some tyres have a rim protector which is specifically there to stick out from the rim and provide some protection against light kerbing.

cheers Julie...

Im sure the guys at the tyre depot wouldnt have fitted them if they wernt right lol...

I found this wee site and it has calculators on it for matching tyres to rims ( safely) lol

it says my tyres can safely be fitted to a rim for 5.5 to 7 x 15

so my mind is at ease lol

Tyre / rim Calculators

look fine to me emoticon-0148-yes.gif ... get some pics from the side as id be interested to see what they look like on the car

I've got a set of these for my wifes Fabia and was asking the tyre question about a month ago. Was gonna go for 185s for them, as they're not going on the car until it's been to the bodyshop 1st. Be interested to see how you get on with the 195s and look forward to some more pics ;)

Id be intrested to see pictures aswell :p

Forgot to say, the 185s aren't a 50 profile, they need to be 55 profile in 185 width as they don't make 185/50s ;)

ooh, imo, they really dont suit a fabia. If you like them though, thats all that really counts at the end of the day

I say they look better with centre caps

im not 100% about them either but they are growing on me ... im just glad to get rid of the 17"s .. ride is a lot smother and now at least I can deactive the pot hole radar... ..

got the wheels offa ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140407323446 quite cheep I may add :)

girl friend says they look like steelies a bit , and someone else thought they where g60 wheels....

I just think they are different and will do until I get bored with them :)

I say they look better with centre caps

Seconded ;)

not to my taste now ive seen em but a cheap set of rims however you look at it emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I quite like them on, strangely look better on the rear than the front. Think they would look better with the centre caps on though. Thinking might give my pepperpots a trial fit at the weekend with a 195/50 and a 185/55, and see how they look :)

Not bad mate, bit weeny for my likings but

I think they look great! And quite different!.. and as already said.. at that price it'd be stoopid not to have put em on!

Possible to get a pic of the caps on.. even if you don't run with them?

I'm not a huge fan either. I would suggest centre caps/ colour! Dark grey maybe?
