Anyone got 19's?

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I am very tempted to treat my 2008 vRS to some new wheels and tyres and have yet to choose any specifically. I have been trawling the forum for some inspiration but as yet have'nt found many. In fact I have found only one topic. The vRS featured in this thread has 19's and look great. They are Audi R8 style.

Has anyone got 19's? If so could you post a picture please. I am very keen to see an Occy on 19's.

Also does the speedo need adjustment for the larger circumfrance or does the lower profile tyre make the size the same?

Cheers!

PM Ben (shark_90) - he's running BBS 19's at the moment

Is it good for everyday use? Some owners told me, there is almost no difference to 18"...

there is a little difference ithink it was 1 inch last time i checked :giggle::rofl:

Cheers Brim.

They look really good.

A bit of a bugger to clean though I reckon.

I have always been a fan of fatter legs..If you pardon the pun. :giggle:

I do like those though.

They're not that bad to clean (I have the same).

Phaeton Helios 19s look great...

BBS RS861s look pretty good. I nearly went for Bentley 19" splits on mine but went all sensible and went for the BBS CHs. AFAIK, still nobody's put the Bentleys on a mk2 Octy so you could be the first. :)

You could probably get these for somewhere between £600-£700 if you make an offer

Might have to check whether an Octavia can take them first though

Audi A5 19" Alloys

They won't fit Brimma. To get that style to fit an Octy, you have to for the A4 version, not the A5. The offset's too low on the A5 version. The A4 ones are 8.5J not 9J too.

Jesus, I'm such a wheel bore.

Those Helios look awesome. Any idea of costs?

No you're not Nick............it's just that you, unlike me, know what you are talking about

I think even the genuine ones aren't *that* pricey considering they're off a phaeton. Width and offset of the genuine ones is fine too iirc ET45 / 8.5J?

You might find some sets floating around e38 / wheelwhores or somewhere. You could also look into reps. Ask the guy who's car is in the photo with them...

As an aside, one thing to consider is the aspect ratio and how it affects your wallet;

My boss has 19's on his Scirocco and has been through five tyres and one wheel this year due to pothole damage. The latest tyre lasted two weeks and was picked up as dodgy during his service at Caffyns in Hove yesterday. The tyre had a bulge in the sidewall. Give how much those tyres cost, he is not wonderfully happy!

Just something to think about. Me? I'm sticking with 18's which have more of a safety net!! Probably make the car handle a little better than 19's toowhich are really only for looks............imho of course emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Er, thats in California! I realise its a small world but shipping etc is going to really hurt on 4 wheels!

If they have good link with a decent shipping company it should be alright. For example, we (by that I mean my shop) can send a complete mountain bike to the USA next day before 10:30am for less than £80!

Could be worth an ask

Or you could spend a fraction and make do with a brand new set of 18" Audi Calito split rims

Those Phaeton wheels are nice but I aint paying silly money for them.

I don't need new rims that badly!

My budget is around £600-700 for the set with tyres. Not per corner. Ha! :giggle:
