Very proud owner of a 51 plate 1.8T RS, having just upgraded from an Audi quattro

Much to learn and as usual, a few little things to try and sort out/understand a bit better.

Will be tackling rear discs and pads first, as discs are heavily lipped and was thinking about the Mintex brake box option as they seem fairly reputable and quite cheap (i.e. under £50), but grateful for any other suggestions for someone on a budget. Of course i'd love to buy the EBC Ultimax discs and red stuff pads, but cannot afford that kind of expense right now.

At least if i understand correctly i'll be making use of the piston rewind tool again i bought for the Audi.

Also seem to get a bit of noise on start up, almost like it's a diesel, but fine after i start driving. Perhaps it is a common problem?
