Spacesaver for Superb

Featured Replies

I've just took delivery of an Estate 170 SE but as it was already in the system I couldn't get it with a spacesaver just the repair kit.. Not sure if I can buy one direct from Skoda but was also considering getting a VW one off E Bay ( or similar ). Can anyone help with which VW group cars have compatible spacesavers?

I know it won't go under the boot floor just wanted one to chuck in when touring France.

Did you get an answer ? I am in the same situation. I was hoping I'd just be able order a space save and install it.

Just found you can order a wheel as a spare part along with the tools and jack ( approx £130 all in ). It's only listed as a full size spare though so not sure whether it's suitable for all models.

I've got a "Full Size" spare on my Elegance Estate - It's actually a 205/55/16 steel, rather than the 225/40/18 that are fitted to the car, but is a "real" wheel and tyres, rather than a Hoola-Hoop.

Has anyone managed to order a fully equipped spare wheel after the fact as yet (ie not factory fitted and including jack etc)?

We have now taken delivery of our steel grey 2.0 TDi 170 elegance estate (and we are delighted with it). However we would like to do something about the absence of a spare wheel if at all possible. Does anyone have a part number and can you tell me if it comes with the polystyrene holder ? As far as I can see the holder that is there for the compresser and repair gunk would not take a wheel - at least it doesn't look as if it would.

All assistance much appreciated.

Irene

Just picked up a spare wheel kit for my Superb II Greenline, ordered from my local Skoda dealer, took about 1 week to come.

Kit consists of a full size spare wheel (steel, not alloy) although it still comes with the label saying dont exceed 50 mph. You also get a new polystyrene centre piece which has the wheel brace and jack, a fixing strap to hold this to the spare wheel and the post and screw to secure the whole thing into the spare wheel well.

Part numbers on my order are as follows.

3T0071108 Wheelkit £32

3T0601012BP Wheel Type £96

Total Order £128 (inc VAT)

Perfect. Thanks - exactly what I needed.

The Skoda Shop have a link on their homepage stating that spare wheel kits are available. When you click it you get "coming soon".

Might be worrth a ring though.

I had a long drawn out battle with my dealer over the spare wheel for my Superb SE. I ordered the full size spare, they failed to include it on the factory order so supplied the foam puncture repair kit. They then supplied a spare a cou[ple of weeks late but it was the 205/55R16 91H (the size fitted to the Superb S). The SE has 225/45R17 94 so I asked them to supply the correct FULL size spare. They gave me every excuse possible (and several that were blatently impossible!) Skoda customer service simply followed the dealers position so I eventually wrote to the office of the Chief Exec of VW UK threatening court action and in a few days got the not just the correct size but on a Triffid Alloy.

Now I'm a Happy Driver!
