So what should i look out for when going to view one? Ive seen a few on pistonheads and the prices range quite a bit, is this the case just due to mileage? As some are ranging from £4500 to £6000 but with similar mileage?

Hey mate,

Welcome, great choice of car.

I bought my vRS on piston heads from a very dedicated owner who loved his car. I think its still on the site

Things to look out for,

Cambelt change - Ideally this should of been done if the car has done over 60k or 4 years old.

Service History - Like with any car, frequent oil changes from reputable garages

MOT Advisories - Something to look out for further ownership with the car, bushes seem to wear out on the fabias.

Leaky Doors - These are a common issue on the vRS's, simple fix, however check all seals under the doors.

Prices range as you have found on Piston Heads. I went to see one from a car dealer in London, it was up for 6k - However when I got to see it, it was very much unloved. Scratches all over it. Almost all tyres needed replacing and parts of the paint work were dull.

I managed to get mine 54' Plate with 55k on the clock for £5500, just needed rear tyres.

The higher end of the prices will be later models, however I would say somewhere in the middle of 4-6k will get you a decent motor. The only thing is to see the car.

Good luck mate, if any questions ask on the forums. Many many knowledgeable people on here.

Cheers for that reply. Put my mind at rest now! Ive been looking at a few on pistonheads and at the moment i like the silver, which is odd as i didnt think i particulaly liked silver before and love the red. I had a black mg zr and its a nightmare to keep clean!

Ive also seen a few with the lcr splitters which look very nice!

Were there any optional extras like climate, cruise or xenons i might be lucky enough to pick up?

Many thanks for the replies guys!

One more question... ive seen a few that are of a much lower price eg just under £4k but they have 120.000 miles on them. Is this a worry with the fabias? thankyou

hey mate

Just do your homework on them and view/drive a few different ones and im sure u'll get the right car. theyr a great car anyway but as foey said if you look for service history with the oil changes at the right time then your on the right track. i bought my 2006 fabia vrs with 35k on the clock, full service history in mint condition for 6300. my car is black but keepin it clean can be a challenge lol.

good luck mate
