google on my laptop has gone posesed? its not only google its any serch engine. i type a word in to search, it comes up with the sugestions but when i click on one of the pages it gos to totally random pages and i cant get the one on i want? was lookin for watches before and a page on mountain bikes came up! its doin my nut in! what is wrong with it?

Possessed it is... most likely some kind of malware/spyware. Regretfully I have no idea how to diagnose,or remove, but there are various programs that scans your pc, e.g. this one: http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/

When you know exactly what malware causing your problem you can find the relevant tool to remove it.

spybot search and destroy - bit ugly, and slow but does a good job... dont bother with the "teatimer" real-time app bit as its a resource hog

A-Squared also good but takes a while.

I guess you have been infected with Browser Helper Object. HiJack-This shows them as BHO I think.

BTW - Steer clear of online banking and shopping until you're sure it's clean.
