Off to pick mine up later :) so i'll update this once i've had a play. Plus ive been told it can be used for VagCom too.

Mmmm its either really good and you havn't had time to come back and tell us,cause your still playing with it,or its not so good that you've not came back with an update yet.

Its very good, Plugged in 24/7 it has an intelligent thing on it that if the car is off for 15mins then the unit switches it self off. Its cheaper from a place called Graham Goode Racing in leicester but they deliver. Clears my fault code for the secondary air thingy. Need an extra cable to use it with vag com though.

What do you want to know?

  • 2 months later...

whether it logs requested vs actual boost pressure, whether it logs temp of Air Intake at TB

whether you get MAF readings

A/F ratio

Coolant temp

outdoor temp

is anyone techy to answer whether its possible to get the software and run on a pda/lcd screen, my thinking is to make a case and use bits of phone/pdas that i have.........not that i have a clue about electronics, but i recon i could knock us up some housings

Personally I think the fact that you can record/display pretty much any Parameters, means you can develop your own health indicators. But it doesn't come cheap.

Thing is, what defines a good data logger?

Buy a copy of VAG-Com and run it on an in-car computer or a head unit like mine with a Win CE operating system.

i have full vag.com Jamie, just didnt want to spend a fortune on an in car computer, i do have a pda that runs win ce, but i didnt think that it would run vag.com, am i wrong as that would be good to know!??

need to revive this. Looking at a VI monitor and Fr&R have 'em cheap at the moment.

Does anybody know whether I will be able to log, on a Octavia1, (engine code AUQ):

AIT; MAF; MAP; Oil Temp; Lambda.

I would ike to log the turbo to stay below 1bar under certain conditions, and check whether a new FMIC/SMIC really does lower AITs.

Suggestions welcome ;-)

I have a VI and while I think it is good value for money it will not log/measure what you want, its use is much more for recording performance stats with a few extras.

Suggest you look at VAg-Com in detail

right but vag-com needs a PC though, which means additonal costs. Making the total cost prohibitive

Has anybody experience with DashDaq as it seems to be a Linux based Multi-protocol Interface (and does logging and diagnostics)

I would like to be able to monitor and log how much pressure the turbo is generating and whether I am close killing it (surge and heat efficiency). This means I also need to be able to do the same with AIT and exhaust temp

At least that is my understanding and will gladly read your views on this

The UK website seems obsolete. It mentions updates in 2008?! If it could be obtained for £400 and it contained UK/Europe satnav it might be a good deal...

the product seems to originate from Greece, yet looking at youtube it seems their biggest market is US??? £400 is a lot. For that money I would like a demo and that is where I struggle. Nobody seems to know about this???
