Oh dear oh dear (polite form of ) the Yeti has got sunstroke today :'( well the sunroof has.

It's having a bad week :wonder: My other half hit a metal fence and damaged the front bumper and wing on Tuesday :( waiting for insurance quote from dealer tomorrow :peek:

and now today the sunroof has gone doo lally tap!! It started doing the hokey kokey and would not shut or open just moving back and forth a few inches either way AAhhggghhh

Popped it down to Startin Skoda at Powick and it had lots of attention from lots of people (excellent service) and WD40 etc... but just got worse... so now has to go in to be looked at in more detail as not sure what has gone wrong with it!!

Managed to get it shut by pulling it whilst operating the switch

Not a happy Lady Penelope now...you all might be glad after reading this that you can't get a sunroof :S

Thanks TP- hope to have it sorted before the Welsh Adventure! I mean it always rains in Wales (controversial!!) and a dodgy sunroof would be a bit of a nightmare!

Judging by the current sunroof threads you might be stuck with just a hole in the roof as you wont be able to get a replacement !!

I'm so glad I didn't bother. Just one more thing to go wrong. The only Yeti with an umbrella as a roof!

Maybe this is why sunroofs are currently not available - the next step is a recall of all sunroofs to fix a major fault - Toyota eat your heart out!!! Shame about the metal fence incident.

So no xenon lamps that won't light and no sunroof that wont close - I am a lucky guy. It is a coincidence that I had a problem with a window that would not shut due to the electronics getting in a muddle but this was very easily solved by the dealer.

Are the Yeti control(s) the same as the Octy's; a single rotary kn0b that you turn to the desired position, going one way from "closed" for slide back, and the other for "tilt"?

If so, then I managed to get mine to do this by trying to slide it back, then changing my mind before it got all the way back. I fixed it by selecting slide right back, and waiting until it had actually done so before sliding it closed again.

I noticed a little quirk with mine the other day.

I was stationary - turned the kn0b, my mrs then opened the passenger door - stopped the sunroof.

Presume a safety feature ?

RedDog- yes I may need to borrow it ...allthough we do have our excellent Yeti boot door as a rain shelter

KenONeill- sounds the same but doesn't solve the problem, in fact now its gone into robotic dance mode a la Peter Crouch but stuck on repeat!!

Gilesmengland- yes the same happens with drivers door too!
