More Power Steering problems

Featured Replies

Hi All, yet another Fabia with power steering problems, the usual intermittent loss of power and lights dimming etc. When it finally got too bad I checked it with the laptop and found that it was telling me the sensor was at fault. Followed the other threads and pulled the sensor out, only to find that power steering fluid came out too.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal or am I looking at a new power steering rack? If so, anyone know if you can get the stuff to overhaul it?

Any advice welcomed.

Sounds like the rack has an internal leak, so ideally you need to get it repaired or fit a recondtioned rack. As an interim measure you may be able to find a suitable fluid additive that will expand the seals and slow the leak down.

Thought that might be the case, I like the idea of trying a temporary fix for now though. Thanks for the advice.
