Bluetooth Phones

Featured Replies

After 18 months of phone contract, I'm being hassled by Carphone Warehouse to upgrade my Sony C905 to a new phone. (p.s tip to get then to hang up on you - ask them to prove they are from Carphone Warehouse for your security!)

But I dont want to change the phone until i know what will or wont work on the Columbus System in a Yeti.

Has anybody got an upto date list of test phones as the list in the brochure is 12 months out of date?

If not, has anybody tried an Sony Experia X10 or HTC Desire?

So emailed Skoda UK - they were very unhelpful and suggested I try the dealer who may know. I get the impression that Customer Satisfaction isnt a Skoda strong point - very sorry to see all the sunroof problems. Had similar problems waiting for the first gen freelander softops - ended up waiting about 7 months for it in the end. I've ended up buying a yeti car model on ebay while I wait for mine to turn up...

Thanks

Rog

For what it's worth, I have an iPhone 3GS and that works fine with my Columbus, including accessing the contacts list etc through the satnav+ screen or via the Maxidot. I got hold of a friend's iPhone and tested it in my YETI before I upgraded to it.

Unfortunately, there is (as I fear with all things) more knowledge here amongst the lovers of YETIs than at SUK. Remember that to many (if not most) at SUK it's a job and just don't know as much about the things they are selling than those that drain information out of the internet at every opportunity.

Customers not satisfied? I think you'll find that people tend to complain more about things than those that might praise them. The sunroof shortage is worldwide so not SUK's fault or even Skoda-Auto perhaps - they are all just victims of the sunroof success.

Thanks aerofurb, I have the older iPhone 3g and am eagerly waiting for the new iPhone HD due to be announced at the WWDC in June!!!!!!!!!!!

As for the sunroof, we know its a worldwide problem but I want to know what SUK is going to do to tackle the issue for UK customers....I don't care about other countries one bit :moon:

its also well known that in Europe sunroofs are not as popular as they are for UK customers.

Incidentally, the Yeti has the option of electric memory seats in Europe not in the UK, how unfair is that as we asked about that option 3 months ago when we started making enquiries about the Yeti

This is my current car

It all depends how old your Columbus is - my iPhone 3gs WILL NOT work in my 4 week old Superb. (GSM III)

GSM II is a different matter - your iPhone should work.

HTC Desire does NOT work. HTC HD2 and HD Mini (Windows Phones) will work, as with new BlackBerry 9700 and most modern Nokia's.

YETIs do have GSMII and as far as I know that hasn't been changed.

My Samsung G600 ( I can hear you saying, do they still make those? ) works in my Superb but it's not one of those that's shown in the brochure!7.gif

Trial and Error then?! - Have Skoda not standardized on a GSM II or III throughout the Columbus range?!

The Bluetooth modules fitted to the Yeti are GSM2 as stated and the Supern has the GSM3 module - no probs with my iphone on the Yeti - all functions work B)
