Furby vRS Tyre Pressures?

Featured Replies

Hi had my Furby vrs for a week now but not sure of the tyre pressures? The figures on the petrol cap is gobbledy **** to me? Does anyone know what pressure to put in the tyres..The wheels are the standard fit alloys from new :rolleyes: many thanx

2.2 bar front

2.0 bar rear

:)

In old fashioned english that equates to:

32 PSI in the front

and

30 PSI in the rears

I know digital ones are reckoned to be useless. Can anyone suggest a decent, robust and accurate tyre gauge? Would make a good stocking-filler ...

Digital ones not useless.

Have a look at the product test section of autoexpress

I got my digital one from Halfords - pretty good it is too.

Asked this question a while back, the stated tyre pressure in this thread is right but feels wrong when driving way too soft!!

May sound stupid but ive been driving at 38 at the front and 34 on the back and it feels much more solid but still allows a load of traction on take off and is v comfy!

I have tried all different pressures and my tyres managed 23k on the above which is pretty damn amazing, a lot of motorway miles but driven fairly hard on the Sport Contact 2's!

2.2 bar front

2.0 bar rear

:)

Ross - I know you're the font of all Furby vRS wisdom, but mine (on Michelins) is plated at:

2.3 front

2.2 rear

I stand corrected then, 2.2 front and 2.0 rear is for a regular Fabia, tbh didnt know the vRS was different, I tend to run mine 34 psi front and 32 rear.

My tyre label gives completely different information to this. The rear pressure, according to the label in my vRS, should be higher than the front.

Mine is running something like 2.4 rear, and 2.2 front. It handles really well with these pressures.

Are you looking at the correct loading?

The fronts should definitely be higher because of the extra weight of the engine. I'm pretty surprised it handles well with more in the back than at the front TBH.

Here we go, just to clarify Fabia vRS tyre pressures.

2.3 bar front (33 psi) and 2.2 bar (32 psi) rear for 3 people and luggage.

You only need the higher scale if fully loaded.

Is the fully loaded weight not also applicable at sustained high speeds?

Not as far as I know, just when the vehicle is heavily loaded due to the extra weight.

It's strange, though: it definitely handles better with the full load pressures. The turn-in is sharper, and the tail is more keen to change direction. I'll give it another go on the lower pressures, just to be sure, but at the moment I'm happy with the higher pressures. Tyre wear looks to be sensible, too.

Grief that was low!

I recall that when I picked up my Corsa new from the garage they had inflated the back tyres up to 45 psi - which made the handling a bit interesting :D

Still those days are in the past...Octy vRS ower for 10 weeks today
