on a standard car with no raised limiter what speed will your vrs do in each gear? reason i ask is mine seem really long... like 35 in 1st... 70 odd in 2nd etc... and now with a raised limiter a little bit more..doesn't bother me just wondering whether it is a standard box or not.

so what box is mine on...do derv boxes fit on? with a 7400 limiter its doing 82 in 2nd....

The 5-speed box from the TDi110 would give you 60mph for 2_000 in top; the 6-speed from the 130 I think is more like 70 for 2000.

Yours should be an EHA Lee. I think the code is located on the diff housing...

The gears are pretty long. You can hit 40 in 1st, 68 in 2nd, 102 in 3rd, 129 in 4th and 159 in 5th (@6500rpm). In theory!

So sounds like you have the right gearbox fitted.

1st - 3.300

2nd - 1.944

3rd - 1.308

4th - 1.034

5th - 0.838

Final drive 1st-5th - 3.647

So in 5th gear @ 6000rpm you'd see 146mph

Bloody nora! According to my table you'd be at 7350rpm to hit 145mph in 4th! That's insane!

The table obviously doesn't account for slight increases in tyre contact diameter at high speeds, so you could be doing lower revs at that speed.

So in theory you should see 180mph in 5th then........... just don't let the dog poke his nose out of the window!!

Did the valves and valve springs need to be uprated to raise the limiter? I seem to remember Des floating the valves on his last year

jabba mapped it and he said it'd be fine. he knew i was on stock motor with pretty much bolt ons
