Thanks to Border Cars Dumfries!

Featured Replies

A big thanks has to go to Border Cars, Glasgow Rd, Dumfries - they fixed my lovely Fabia vRS SE after MONTHS of being arsed about by the Skoda dealer in the same area (I've already left a 'review' on the dealer page, so no need to name and shame yet again!)

I got my lovely vRS SE from David Kirkwood (lovely Skoda salaes manager bloke, used to be in charge of the aforementioned Skoda dealer) at Border Cars in October last year. It started to play up around January, so rather be safe than sorry got it booked into the Skoda dealer to be checked under warranty... After 3 attempts at the Skoda dealer to get them to believe my car had an intermittent high idling issue, and various things being done (1st time "keep an eye on it, it seems fine here", 2nd time "It seems ok but if it does it again we'll replace the EGR valve", 3rd time "we didn't need to replace the valve, just gave it a clean"), the car then went out of warranty, still with the fault...

I remembered when I bought the car I had been given a 1 year warranty from Border Cars (standard on their 2nd hand cars it would seem!), so contacted David and asked his advice (was sick of trailing back and forth to other garage by this time)... I booked it in, they had it 2 days, diagnosed a faulty throttle pedal, ordered it in and replaced it all under warranty - no fuss or anything!

For the first time in months, my car is back running properly, I can't thank them enough!!!

Result ! :D

Excellent news, bet she's running sweet now.

I didn't find the nonb mentioned dealer that bad when I had my Octavia, however, Border cars have been very good with the evo.

Yeah the 'other' garage have been great up until the last 2 cars I've had - sales lads are great blokes, just something unfortunate seems to have happened on the service side, which is a shame.

Loving my vRS again - its been a couple of depressing months wondering if it would ever be right again! I've even bought it a new nose badge to celebrate (other one is a bit flaky!)
