Brake pad question

Featured Replies

Hi all, bit of a newby question really, but I've never had to replace brakes before.

What are the differences between fast road and track pads? I've been looking, and will most likely run the standard disks with some uprated pads - but am not sure what the differences are. Are there any reasons why I wouldn't want track pads for normal driving? (Very rarely do I ever drive it 'hard'.) Looking to upgrade in some way, as I can't even get the ABS to come in when jumping on the pedal, the disk is warped and the brakes are really poor.

So in short - fast road or track pads? Is there anything wrong with track ones in normal usage?

Thanks, Joe.

the problem you have with track pads is they work amazing but only when up to temp wich takes some work so for general road use there a no no and most outright track pads are not legal on the road

fast road will be the best of both worlds good from cold and excellent when up to temp

i recommend ferrod ds2500 pads these are prob the best pads at the minute for fast road

wot he said!....

The OE pads will be adequate for you. Normal road driving is what they are designed for, good qualily and not too expensive if you buy them at GSF or ECP.
