Hi,

welcome to the club,

you can use the Bailey DV 26 on the vRS but be aware that in certain circumstances it will put the car into limp mode. again from exp. I used one and it sounded nice but on testing it didnt hold boost eg: std bosch= 1.1 bar and the DV26=0.9 on the same map and same conditions.

you really ned the DV30 or the 007p. the SplitR is ok but not really necesary if you get a CAI. plus the SplitR is damn expencive lol.

also putting the DV26 on means it will take longer to boost and the engine thinks there is more air in the system than there really is thats why it will throw it into limp.

stick with Recirc mate, its simpler.

mmm

what spring is in it?

what map have you got?

Ive gone back to the green spring and mine is much much better. hence having 2 yellows. I was going to go to yellow thats why I got the kit but found that it already had one in lolDOH.

okay the only way you will get to the bottom of the problem is to run some logs with vagcom

no point keep putting this and that on will cost you loads and could be something very simple.

HEY GUYS IM THINKING OF GETING A DUMP VALVE ARE THEY EASY TO FIT HAS ANY1 GOT ANY PICTURES ON HOW TO FIT THEM OR ANYTHING?? HOPE U CAN HELP..

WOW,

We are not deaf mate lol.

Remove the black engine cover mate and the DV is at the top right of the engine. The cover has a bulge in it, the DV is under that, just remove the clips on it and put the forge/bailey valve in its place,

easy, 10 mins. just be careful not to damage the pipes as the oe clips are a bit of a pain. just replace them with jubilee clips.

whatever you do dont fit a split r.....iv got one and im not really all that impressed with it.makes a nice noise but it seems to struggle to hold boost sometimes and its set fairly stiff

If you stopped shouting for a minute and read the post you'd know that dump valves don't work with the 1.8T engine. :wonder:

As for fitting a new recirc valve? Easy peasy and plenty of info on the site

Will just confirm atmospheric DV's dont work, yes they sound great, I had one on mine, had it remapped, and it didnt make any difference until I put my recirc DV back on. now it pulls like a train. Get a cold air induction kit(hard pipe) if you want the DV sounds with a recirc valve. nearly as loud as an atmospheric DV

clarky - what boost issues you getting?! throughout the rev range or just at certain times..... i was going to order one today but now i am not too sure might just play it safe and get the 007p. really not sure :S

cheers

i used to run a split r and soon changed to the 007p its a lot better IMHO and cheaper aswell

When I had my Split-R my peak boost was the same as it was with the Bosch DV and the 007P I have now (between 10.1 and 11.1 psi) but I never did a boost plot to compare to the boost plots when I had the original Bosch valve on to see whether the Split-R was leaking boost as the boost built up.

When it was rolling roaded at AmD it only made 173bhp which they said could have been a slight boost leak but I've not had any 17705 fault codes. I had the spring set quite tightly on mine as well, 18 turns which is almost what they recommend for a remapped car not a standard one.

As SiVRS said, the 007P is cheaper. The Split-R is good fun for the noise but you'll soon get bored of it and as I found you won't be able to sell it on ebay for anywhere near what you paid for it (mine only just covered the cost of the 007P which replaced it)
