Columbus HDD

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I was just wondering how to put data onto the hard drive on the Columbus? Can you rip CD's onto it and if so how?

Cheers

You can't rip CDs directly. You copy MP3s onto it though. You're best bet is to batch up the mp3s you want to transfer onto SD card(s).

Thanks for that :D May as well just use the SD card though lol

You can download onto the HDD on the Columbus from a CD but don't make the same mistake I did when I copied the music onto the CD via windows media player and that is to record a music CD. You have to burn a disc as a data CD and then you will have no trouble putting the music onto the HDD. If you do want to transfer a lot then I too would go for the SD card option, to transfer into the Columbus though be careful what sort of SD card you buy as Columbus unit with earlier software versions will not recogize an SDHC card, only a SD card which normally goes up to 2GB.
