R32 Brakes Fitted

Featured Replies

Well was a bit unsure wether they would fit under 17" Zenith alloys (7.0J x 17") but got some 10mm spacers for the front and today JKM managed to shoehorn my wheels over the R32 kit.

Here's a few pics I took with the phone will take some proper ones tomorrow

So they will fit under 7.0J x 17" alloys (with 10mm spacers)

Big thanks to JKM for having the patience and putting the car back in the work shop to change the brake fluid for me as the stuff that was in there had been in for 18months so thought may as well get it done.

Looking good.

How much of an improvement are they?

They look the business Carl, better than Brimma's red ones! :giggle: could have cleaned the wheels though :D

Nice mate. Bet you notice the difference.....

Nice to see they fit under 17's. Were the spacers neccesary or could you do without?

Dunno if could do without the spacers when I next clean the car I might give it a try.

I have noticed a big difference in feel and take up. However I have been taking it easy to bed them in on the way back today.

Something I have noticed is the car is less eager to wheel spin probably due to the extra unsprung weight.

Nice job Carl - go well with the car colour - will have to post a few pics up from further back when you've got your proper camera to show the full effect

They'd clash something rotten with my car though  I don't want too many different colours

Look good under there. Bit of a squeeze i think getting the wheel on without the spacer though.

Look good Carl. I would like this upgrade with my FL vRS albeit ideally the red Seat Cupra version to match the rear red colour. Is everything else OEM? Are the mk1 disc's 312mm or have you upgraded them and the hoses, etc.

I just want to do a straight swap with the calipers and pads rather than changes anything else. Presume I wouldn't need spacers as the FL vRS has 18's

My car is a Mark 2 vRS.

Yes it was 312 discs before. However I had a full R32 kit fitted so 345mm discs, callipers, pads & shields.

Needed to get some different hoses (oem for the R32 I think) as the standard ones become a bit of a tight fit due to the length.

If you have 18" wheels it will be a straigt swap no spacers needed.

So other than pads and hoses the 312mm OEM disks would be fine to work with the Cupra/R32 calipers?

Erm i dont know if the calipers would work with the 312's.

I put the 345mm discs on aswell as that is what helps make this kit so good.

the caliper wont work with the 312 discs. the piston travel has been designed to work on the 345mm discs which are something like 30-32mm. the 312mm disc is only 25mm thick

Just the excuse I needed to do the lot!! :)
