Tuning options for new vRS cr

Featured Replies

I've not found anything on a quick search although I do apologise if this is old ground :)

In anticipation of getting my vRS... There are a few well established companies offering tuning boxes for diesels, some costing more than a remap! but has anyone boxed their vRS?

I'm looking into it as an option because the 'ecu out' doesn't appeal to me due to warranty issues whereas a box (spider, for example) is easily removed for servicing etc.

Is anyone using a similar system?

dont go for a tuning box IMO. either wait for a removable remap option like bluefin or the STS from sharkperformance or other REPUTABLE tuners

Not rated then? I know they're very popular on the astra forum and some guys have been running them for years without problems. I've no experience myself :|

ive hear dso many bad things about tuning boxes, much more than positive things anyway, so i would never do that to a new car. if yu have spent all that money it makes sense not to cut a corner when remapping. you p for what you get

short list for remaps

APR

REVO

jabbasport

shark performance

are the ones i have been in/driven and been very impressed, plus they always get rave reviews.

shark performance do a handset but not sure if it is available on the newest ECU's, you would need to ask him,

bluefin im not sure, but after having used them before i wouldnt bother.

revo select switch allows you to convert the car back to their version of the stock map provided you have their SPS switch.

and

APR will do the same as revo except it uses the existing cruise control stalk to change between maps

"Tuning Boxes" are to be avoided IMHO.

As for Astra owners................emoticon-0136-giggle.gif
