I'm very disappointed.

No more than a month ago (just after I did my order for 1.2 TSI, which I'm still waiting...) I wrote to the Italian Customer Care about some rumors for the 1.4 TSI. They called me by phone and said "there isn't any schedule for the 1.4 TSI announced in Ginevra Car Exhibition. May be in the next year..."

They are not honest with their customers and this is not a correct behavior.

They have also reduced the price (about 1000 Euros less) for the diesel versions...

I very tempted to cancel my order for another make... :dull:

Ciao medi@wiz Hello everibody,

It seems dealers too often don't care too much

for the their clients.

I'm Sorry to learn that Skoda may have

these behaviours too.

Anyway yeti is a good car, ...at least so far

(I'm close to 9.000 km)

And btw I'm glad to see that someone else is

driving the snow monster in Italy.

(In the forum I've read of people from trieste, Napoli, Torino, Roma and Milano Anyone else from any other places?)

- even if I'm getting a little worried since i don't spot any other Yetis around. (i live in the Monza province). It's funny but It' s much easyer to see: Dacias, SSanyong (Kyrion!) a lot of Fiat Sedici, there are a couple of Hummers ...obviously Ferrari but NOT Yeti!

Is this the same in the area where you live?

A nice day to all of you!

Ciao Elcano,

My SM has been to Monza. 9 Hotel is one of my favorites in the Milano area.

In Turin is quite the same situation...

since my decision to buy a SM I've seen no more than 5 of them in the city streets (but two just yesterday...).

In Italy the Skoda brand isn't so appreciated because of the "bad reputation" in the past time and the most prefer to "show" names like KIA, Toyota, Mitsubishi, BMW, AUDI, VW, Porsche on their SUV just as a "status symbol" and not as well built car...

Some friends of mine, when I said about the SM order, said "ARE YOU GOING TO BUY A SKODA???? ARE YOU CRAZY?"

and when they see some pictures of our "monster" the other sentence is "Nice car but... is a Skoda and not a (put here any of above brands)!"

I want to give a chance to Skoda (since 1984 I had some Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Lancia cars... but now I said stop to the poor quality of their products and to their worst customer care) just to "touch" a different way to make a car like they do... I hope to not regret on my decision... as soon as my SM arrives.

P.S I've founded a "Yeti Owner Group Italia" (YOGI) on FB... I hope to "see" some SM owners very soon there, just as I'm glad to meet them here :D

Hi medi@wiz,

I had the same issue about the brand name and the 'old history' when I placed my order - I take delivery in 4 weeks - so time will tell.

Based on what I've seen of the car and all the good reviews in various magazines etc. Skoda must have got it about right.

I can except that some folks have had problems and issues and the delivery has not been handled as well as it might - but the extended delivery points to it being very popular.

I hope you enjoy your Yeti when it arrives.

I was traditionally against SUVs for their ecologic impact and being -mostly- status symbol cars.

Yeti made me change idea as, in my opinion, it has not the above "properties" (and really I do not consider it a SUV...).

The fact Yetis are not so frequent on the roads, for me is an added value (a bit of snobism, I admit).

Bye,

Ratz

Ciao Agerbundsen

What a Journey you have made!

I perfectly know the area, since I used to live in Monza. I'm hoping you had the time to see the historyc city center which is quite remarkable, with Its Duomo, the Royal Palace, and the large Park (...theater of my Sunday Jogging) with its F1 race Track!

(and the traffic!)

...hell I don't work for the tourist office!
