License plates........

Featured Replies

Best way to remove a set of license plates held on by some sort of sticky pads (very industrial as they don't peel off!!)?

Have swap over my private plate to the Pastie tonight, and ringthe insurance company to advise of license plate changes (oh they'll love me, second time in as many weeks..........)

So is it really just warm water and elbow grease? :(

EDIT: Also noticed RUST  forming along the edges of the tailgate lights on the pastie.........I'm shocked.........

However, do these just unscrew enough to allow me to treat them with some rust-inhibiter, or do I have to get shirty with the garage (anti-corrosion warranty, iirc, should still be in place....)

Dental floss would probably be the best bet...

Hairdryer and a plastic spatula works for me.......

Lighter fluid (the type used in Zippos)

Probably go with the dental floss idea in first instance, then hair dryer and spatula. The lighter fluid notion, given where I live and some of the scrotes that wander through, would be an open invite to a Skoda Cook-out........

Any thoughts on the rust issue (i know it's not a skoda, but the VW/ClubB5 Forum is a bit slow to respond to questions)

Anyone know a DECENT, VW Pastie forum?

If you can get hold of any fishing line, I've found that works best. Tougher than dental floss, but still won't damage anything.
