as title, ive just recieved my cruise control stalk and wiring but as im at work and wont be going home anytime soon i was wondering. if i fitted it now would it still do the normal functions ie lights/indicators etc until i can get the cruise programmed in??. i dont want to fit it and them not work.

it should do as its still a normal indicator unit. be aware this is fiddly to fit and requires getting into the ecu, USE CARE! :thumbup:

small screw driver in the side of steering wheel very fiddle 2 clips need to be pushed over to release the airbag :thumbup:

cheers mate will disconnect the battery n leave it a while before raggin it about lol

yes, earth yourself to the door strap too before removing steering wheel (by touching it) to get rid of any static build up you have.

its now fitted and functional and will hopefully get the cruise part sorted when i'm home from work :thumbup:

i'm hoping so mate as most of my miles are done on the motorway. may look for a diy fitting guide as to which wires go where if im feeling brave :rofl::thumbup:

there is a guide on vw teesides website iirc which tells you how to do it :thumbup:

I actually paid someone to do this mod for me as i knew it was a fiddly job and i really didnt want to play around with the ecu connections, i watched the guy do it all and to be honest am glad i paid him to do the job as it only took him an hr and a half and it would have taken me a lot longer!
