Put deposit down on a nice black 05 fabia vrs yesterday done 55k last 2 services were independent the others before were at skoda. No evidence of cambelt change i could see should i get this done asap?

Its a standard car, think i'll be taking a trip to jabbasport in near future for stage 1 is there any other things i should get sorted that u can think off, ie uprated items etc? thanks guys

The cambelt should be done every 4 years or 60,000 miles (whichever comes first), so if there's no evidence of it being done I would have it done asap. It's worth changing the water pump at the same time. If you're buying the car from a dealer try to negotiate that they either do the work or reduce the price accordingly.

Cambelt is a year over-due so definitely needs doing now. Consule bushes should be replaced with the new improved version. Try ot haggle £500 off the price to cover the work needed.

100 % agree with MoggyTech - See if you can get the belt changed before taking delivery, with the bushes get them checked as they may not need doing yet, but be aware that it will not be a small bill to do.
