ordered new VRS CR DSG hatch

Featured Replies

Ordered a Race Blue VRS CR DSG yesterday with a few extras. Bluetooth 3 spoke wheel +Front/rear parking sensors+Autodim mirror+MDI cable+Temp spare wheel.

Very pleased with service from dealer in Hertfordshire+taking px 56 plate Seat Leon 140 TDI dsg. Will get build date week after next.

Dealer checking if can fit front mud flaps. Unless car comes with Michelin PS3 will need to swap tyres. Should I sell on ebay? Trying to find a tyre dealer who would be prepared to take new tyres in px, but until car arrives, don`t know whats fitted etc

Will be emailing factory when have build order, to try and get tyres fitted on production line. Don`t see why not?

All your comments made my mind up to test drive car + orginal choice Yeti CR DSG too expensive at the mo + factory not accepting orders for panoramic roof+ economy not as good as expected, even allowing for 4wd.

Can`t wait, excited like a kid in a sweet shop

Thanks

Good choice and colour. Guess you will be looking at mid Sept for delivery.

Congrats on the new car. I would expect it is going to be end of Sept if not a bit longer before you get it if other members experiences are anything to go by.

Skoda do not fit Michelins as standard (they use Dunlop or Continental) so you will have to change your tyres over if your really have to have the PS3 fitted. Also there is no way Skoda are going to fit these on your car on the preoduction line. Modern car assembly lines are all about standardisation and getting a car through as quick as possible. They do not do custom fitments like completely different tyres etc. To be honest it seems slightly silly to change perfectly good tyres. Why not just change them onece they have worn down.

Also the tyres fitted are going to be effectively part worns (although only lightly worn) since they are going to be used for moving th car on and off the boat and around the docks ( your new car will have up to 50miles on it, if not more before you get it). Hence I suspect no tyre fitter will give you much for them in part ex since they can not resell them as new tyres. Changing tyres right at the start seems an expensive folly to me.

As my front tyres on my Fabia VRS Continental's Sport Contact2 replaced at 15,000 miles & 30,000 miles can't see why you couldn't knock the front ones out before replacing with tyres you desire??

If money not an issue, get dealer to change them before picking car up ??

Green with envy you lucky beggar. LOL
