KW Varient 3 Octy mk1 help?

Featured Replies

Bought a well known Brisky MK1 and had the wheels off today to see what hind of state she's in.

The shocks look like new (stainless steel) but the spings look in pretty bad shape, all the powder coating is gone and they look odd to me, like two springs that are inter twined. It looks like the spring has snapped and the two halves have intermingled. May be the design as it is identical on both sides of the front but the end of the springs looks very irregular and sharp, like it has broken off.

Does anyone have any pics of this set up I could use to cross ref?

Cheers

Ron

I've been looking for a picture to make double sure, cant find a decent one for this particular model. I do think it odd that both sides are identical so you are probably right but with the kind of power the car makes, I dont want to risk it :)

Thats how they are, my KW2s were the same. They are made up of 2 springs at the front, and a single spring at the back.

they have race springs one small at top and larger under neath buddy sounds normal to me and they will not rust as they are coated etc etc

just check make sure there is no leaks then you will have no trouble with kit like that buddy

i would say 5yrs and 50k will take their toll on powdercoated front springs, to be honest with that age/mileage, they could probably do with the refurb...

i agrree with above should prob be looking at a refurb with that age and milage
