Issues with Heko wind deflectors

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone can help on this little issue, I bought the Heko wind deflectors about a month ago, installed with ease and correctly (or so I thought). Yesterday, there was some rattling when i opened the window.. 2 of 4 clips on the front came loose.

To confirm, the teeth side of the clip is suppose to bite on the rubber/soft inside of the window?

The placement of these clips is supposed to fit snug against the rubber and wind deflector?

So effectively the window is in the mouth of the clip?

...Has anyone had these issues before also?

Lastly.. one slid along the rubber and fel down the front end of the window.. Im guessing its at the bottom of the door card where the window goes (somewhere).. will there be any issues of that clip living there indefinately (jamming mech's/electrics etc)..? I've heard its a bit of a mission to get to there as it is pop riveted together..? :(

Thanks for reading! Any help would be great thanks.

Hi,

After seeing how good the deflectors looked on your car I got some (I think it was your car anyway) and fitted them at the weekend.

Had a bit of bother with the windows now wanting to close but after a few goes it's all working fine and looks spot on. I didn't put 4 clips in each window though, however, I haven't fitted the rears yet in case I do need the clips from them for the fronts. I'll let you know how it goes but I have fitted them exactly as you have. The little tooth goes against the rubbery stuff i.e. it points into the car. I put one clip about 4 inches from the pillar part of the window and the other just past where the curvature of the window starts.

I doubt if that helps but I'll keep you posted on how they go.

Cheers.

I know 'waveydavey' (think thats the correct username) had this problem, if you do a quick search i'm sure it'll come up with what he did.

I put 2 on each as instructed. if you push 'too far' past the rubbery things it sort of flaps over and it gets inside the rubber. So basically half of the clip is inside edge of the rubber. :S 1 slid down as i put it 4-5 inches away from the vertical drop of the window shape..

(apologies for lack of pictures in the thread! but its quite difficult to take an image of what im trying to explain  )

I think i had a clip slip down the front edge of the window but i managed to get it back out with some long nose pliers as it hadn't dropped all the way through etc...

To help with the front windows going up ok on auto apply some silican grease or vasaline along the top edge of the windows.

Also don't forget you only need the clips for use with electric windows so as long as you haven't retro fitted electric windows in the back you only need the clips in the front as the rears are manual windows.

Cheers

Dave.

Just cant help but feel these look wrong on 5dr cars!?

I've just passed a red MKI Fabia vRS with four wind deflectors in EK - not sure!

After three days on the Guinness (Thurs., Fri.,& Sat. - none today of course as driving!) I could do with some wind deflectors myself!

Just cant help but feel these look wrong on 5dr cars!?

I have them on the front and they don't look bad at all, on the rear they're gash though IMO

have these fitted to all four doors on my fab, i didnt use the metal clips supplyed, just the sticky. and no probs for me ether, they have been on 6 month or so now.

i had the clips in mine for two weeks before i had my tinting done..now ive taken out all the clips as they were catching on the tint, now the deflectors dont move atall, there quite snug!

I used the metal clips and a **** load more sticky tape that came on them. No problems and i've had them on since I got the car!
