Compressor

Featured Replies

Hi All,

just found out from my local garage that my air con compressor has gone to meet its maker (I only went in for a re-gas as it wasnt cooling well).

I just wanted to know how much the work usually costs from more experienced hands. They quoted about £380 for the part + about 1.5 hours work, so roughly 500quid!

Typical just as the weather is getting hot, had a sweltering drive to the peak district at the weekend. I guess i can live without it for a while, to save up, as its not as critical as a blown head gasket for instance.

cheers

Sounds about right though not sure what Main Dealer cost could be, especially labour.

My air-con compressor went The-Way-of-The-Pear just before the warranty ran out so Skoda replaced it at no cost to me. Even the dealer said I was lucky as it would have been a Big One if it had been post-warranty!

just priced 1 up for a customer todat actually, rrp was around £350 inc vat for a brand new item emoticon-0148-yes.gif
