Odd immo LED problem

Featured Replies

I noticed today when i lock the car the red LED on the drivers door flashes as normal to verify being locked but then it stays on constantly for about a minute before doing it's normal flashing. Any ideas what's going on?

Will have a look at mine tomorrow.

Not something I ever really pay attention too.

What should it do?

This happened to mine around a year ago, and at the same time the alarm beep stopped functioning. Turns out it was the interior alarm sensor had failed and this was what was causing it. All was replaced under warranty.

There's something in the manual about it, i cant remember what it says but i remember reading it. No doors open or bonnet not properly shut or something like that?

Carl if you have the alarm it should flash quickly for about 2 seconds and then flash as normal. Mine does the flash quickly but it stays on constantly for about 30 seconds before flashing normal.

I looked at the manual and it says fault probably interior sensor and the fecking car is just over 2 years old and warranty finished so i bet an expensive fix. I still have alarm beep though.

Yeah i have an Alarm and it does flash but never really paid attention to what it does.

You havent knocked the button on the B pillar have you to turn off interior monitoring?? I have managed to catch it a few times. I also press it when i've got the dog if i need to lock the car for a few mins whilst nipping the loo in the services etc.

I've had this happen on my previous MkV GTI several times. VCDS didn't detect any faults. All I did was to unlock, open the door, close the door and lock and it usually goes away. Never figured out why it did...

Scanned with vagcom tonight. It says the inclination sensor defective, must be the tilt sensor for the alarm. Anyone know where it's located?
