Bluetooth and pairing with two phones

Featured Replies

Hi!

Got my brand new skoda superb combi yesterday :D I have bluetooth (the non-rsap version that works with iphone) integrated and columbus navi.

I can get my iphone paired with skoda easily and it works very well. I can also get my wifes Nokia E90 working (not fully but working anyway) with it.

But. If we are both sitting in the car, how can I choose which phone gets paired? Assumably it pairs with the last used one. I thought I could choose the "user" in the phone menu but there's no such thing. Under "phone" I find only last calls, missed calls etc but not any settings or phone searching options.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

Turn off the blurtooth function on the phone you dont want to use........................

My Manual states:

Up to seven mobile phones and four multimedia units can be connected by the hands-free system via Bluetooth® whereby only one mobile phone or multimedia unit can communicate simultaniously via Bluetooth® with the hands-free system. If an eighth mobile phone is connected to the handsfree-system, then the tele-phone, which has not been used together with the handsfree system for the longest period, is disconnected by means of Bluetooth® (my emboldening).

Both my wife's Nokia 6300 and my Nokia X6 pair with the car at the same time, but you can only use one mobile at a time, as stated above.

I understand this. But how can I choose, which phone is in use when we both are sitting in the car? My phone menus or phone setup don't show options like "search phone" or "user" like it says in the manual.

Switching bluetooth on and off from the phone every time we get to the car together is an option but I wish I could avoid this and select the phone from the steering wheel options.

its a pain but it is a primative bluetooth setup with currently no option to choose a paired user.....

You can with the RSAP system, just go into the menu and select the handset you want. The non RSAP system is more basic with its handling of connected devices, the only way I have found is to disable bluetooth on the handset you do not want to use.

I can choose which mobile to use, I can browse either or both 'phone books, read text messages, receive and dial numbers from the wheel or the Columbus. How is that primitive? If you use mobiles that are able to pair correctly with it, that's what you get.

in the UK we can can choose which to use since we have the newer RSAP units in our Superbs. the OP from Finland and Gavin from Eire both have the much older design GSM2 phone kits which have a more limited functionality.
