ON Tuseday my mrs crashed our beloved Mk1 Fabia and we recon it will be a write off due to the value and age of the car and how much it will cost to be repaired.

What i have been told that the Mk2 Fabia still has water leak problems as the Mk1 had. Is this true.

Simply NO! My dad had a mk1 fabia with leaking rear doors, and it was something i was very wary of, it was an issue that skoda adressed, due to warranty costs etc... and now the mk2 runs felt seals and other stuff, so is no longer a problem.

gallego, as Mr Torque says...they don't leak anywhere. Buy with confidence! Trust the Mrs wasn't harmed in anyway?

We have 3 Fabia mk2's in the family, The wife my Mother and my sister all have one, and none of them have leaked like my old Fabia vRS.

Not sure what Mk we had. We still have a 1.4 MPI and I recently sold my 1.2 Silverline.

Both our cars had the leaky door seals. Both were repaired under warranty.

I used to have a mark 1 fabia 55 reg and now a mark 2, no leaking problems at all.The only problem I have with my car is that when there is some water on the roof it will run/drop into the car when you open the front window(s) and hit the brakes, this did not happen with the mark 1 or other cars i've been in. I think it's a design fault.

Now that i have it in my head i am going to get another Fabia, i went to the website and am thinking on getting the 1.6 TDI CR 90 SE 5d as it is cheap to run and tax is nearly nothing on it.

Any views on this model.

Can't help with the 1.6 TDI other than to say the CR diesels are a big improvement over the previous PD designs, much quieter and smoother.

I'm also in the process of putting and order in for a Fabia, in our case a 1.2TSI (85), as my wife doesn't do the miles to warrant the extra cost of the diesel and like yourself originally looked at the SE. In the end we went for the Elegance as the 0% finance option on this spec made more financial sense; for us anyway.

Regards,

TP

Edit

remembered that I'd come across a Fabia II FL 1.6 TDI CR (90) SE being advertised on SUK, there's some decent pic's to go with My link
