Dent removal

Featured Replies

Hello,

Has anyone attempted to remove some light dent's in the car before? recommended? tools? etc? I found a dent on the bonnet after washing the car yday. Very shallow and about 5"? I tried to push it back with my hand but annoyingly there is a support frame in the way of the panel. :wonder:

There is also a few car park dings from doors about 1-2" max.. could they be fixed diy style?

If not, how much would it cost to fix? :S

There are dent pullers that most bodyshops have - Might not work on really small areas but have seen them very effectively pull out a big dent to a point where a repair is much easier.

That bonnet one sounds unlucky being behind a support bar though.

A block of DRY ICE, and very thick gloves. Hold the dry ice on the dent and it will shrink the metal back into shape. Must be dry ice, as normal ice just isn't cold enough.

If your located in Oxfordshire then I can recommned someone that will do this very cheaply...............

A sock over a CO2 fire extinguisher will get you a lump of it.

On a more serious note, theatrical suppliers can usually get dry ice.
