Shark Fin finally fitted

Featured Replies

Well, finally got round to ordering a shark fin to fit to the car. I thought that the existing aerial was very big. It was very easy to fit but the connector between the car and the shark fin were completely different. The car wiring looks simliar to a fibre connection. So the coax that came with it was all but useless. I took apart the Octy aerial leaving the wire, the PCB board and the base, i then cut and fitted this into the shark fin. Offered it up and connected it to test the reception.

All was fine so went ahead and actually fitted it. I forgot to take pics during but have one of the final look. I also have been worried that the reception would be poor but its been normal.

Anyway here it is fitted:

Ditto....

Looks good mate, be even nicer colour coded

Did you have to drop the head lining to fit? or did you just fit it over the standard aerial base? and where did you get it?

Sorry for all the questions.......

it was a unit to replace the octy one but cos of the wiring and the pcb board. i decided to hash to two together so to speak. i do want it white so i think i'll get another one that works with the existing wiring and colour code that.

the headlining just needs some gentle care to lower down enough to get a spanner on to.

I'm sure i did a tutorial on this Lee :p
