Seems a little too cheap!?

Featured Replies

They never mention the brand of the Discs? Dairylea maybe?

I'm not very experienced when it comes to buying parts.. Can you even get "cheap" discs? or are all discs good, just some are REALLY good?

EDIT: Sellers rating is good though, 6400+ items @ 99.4%

Come to think of it, i've bought off them before, mintex brakes for my previous car. Perhaps i'll just send them a message to double check

they're replied, sneaky barstewards, they're not mintex discs, just mintex pads. the discs are 'LPB' who i've never heard of so i'll pass!

wonder wot the difference actually is between lpb and mintex...cant be a lot can it...

first rule is dont skimp on brakes. its a very important part of the car lol. cheap brakes usually warp very quicker and ive seen cases of poorly made discs exploding under heavy braking. i use trade parts specialist for my parts on my fabia vrs. although standard size discs and pads.i got pagid front and rear discs and pads for £100 inc the dreaded vat they are quality parts

I don't scrimp and scrape? Hence I didn't buy ones i'd never heard of!

LPB are an oem manufacturer and make brake components which are supplied to car manufacturers. Since they are OEM manufacturers their parts can be found on brand new cars. That said, they are made in China so I wonder who they supply.

This if OT but Mintex are utter crap. I bought new mintex pads to replace my SKoda ones and not impressed at all. Over-rated imo.

When I get some more money together i'll remove them stick them in the bin and put back a set of skoda ones which are much quieter and stop just as well, and dont dispell as much brake dust.

we've got mintex "brake box" disks and pads all round on our Focus, cheap enough and have stood up to abuse since being fitted, only issue has been glazing after half a day of hooning around Bedford which a couple of stops cured
