Rear boot lip spoiler

Featured Replies

Hello is it common for the laquer to peel off the rear spoiler, practicly the whole top facing part has pealed. Is the the spoiler stuck on or bolted? I would like to remove it and repaint it.

Thanks peeps

Yup laquer peel is common on the spoiler, which is stuck on with panel bond, and is a bitch to remove.

thanks for the reply

so best solution? remove and paint it? or get it painted still attached to the car?

many thanks

Paint on the car if at all possible (doddle for a body shop). All you need is a decent roll of full size masking paper, and mask off the back end and half the roof, rear doors and back quarter panels. If you must remove it, hot air gun and fishing line to cut through the softened panel bond, but high chance the paint under the spoiler will lift in places.
