Cornering Lights and Bluetooth

Featured Replies

Looking at buying a Facelift Elegance just wondered if anyone had specified or has experience of the cornering fogs or headlights and if they are worth the extra cost? Also anyone with the bluetooth I take it operates through the maxidot? Think I've gone a bit mad with options :D

Many Thanks

David

Hi David,

just put in an order for an Elegance and opted for corner fog. Did also consider the curve projector lights but as you say starting to go mad with options so I just stuck with fog as I've added ESP Plus, MFSW (radio) and spare as must haves.

Spec'd the corner fogs on our Yeti more for the novelty value but have actually found them useful for the type of driving we do, which includes a lot of rural roads and lanes were the added light as you negotiate a slow tight bend is great.

Note the function only works up to 40kph and only illuminates the front fog on the side your turning / indicating into, unless your in reverse and both front fogs will light up.

Apologies but I cannot advise on the bluetooth as I don't use phones when I'm driving.

Regards,

TP

Thanks for the reply, still in two minds, part of it is for the novelty value but then the other side is its another item to potentially go wrong. Hoping the face lift has better headlights anyway that is the most disappointing aspect of the early mkII. looking at the 1.2 dsg so maybe the esp+ will Hill hold may be better, like I say think I have added nearly everything. looking at getting it in white and thinking that the Elba alloys look easier to clean.

We've ordered the curve headlights which includes the corning fogs on our Elegance, so I can report back when we get it.....which won't be much before September if you can wait for my report!

We did go a bit mad on options - heated seats, underseat storage, curve projector headlights, white roof, MFSW.....think that was it!

Hi again David,

apparently the FL headlights have been much improved from owners reviews and information stated on skoda-auto.com;

"The projector halogen headlights have undergone technical changes and changes in design. For full beam there is now an independent reflector on the internal side of the headlight, while dipped beam is provided by a projector module. The optically active surface of the headlights has been increased improving road illumination".

Not sure if you may have read these AutoCZ reviews (via a translating tool) but there's some good pictures at the bottom of each article; including the Elba Alloys which I've selected for the same reason.

That is interesting the brochure doesn't mention it not that it is a surprise think they have a lucky dip of what to include :wonder: , had a look on the skoda uk website and it says that the dsg comes with TPM as well. Will get the dealer to check. Thanks Runboy though hoping to get it ordered this week, may just get the fogs depends what is said about ESP+. Some good pics of what the wheels etc look like :thumbup: .

Edit oh forgot to say the TSI DSG comes with ESP & HHC as standard;

I think you'll find that HHC is no longer standard even if it's shown as such in the brochure! :thumbdown:

Hi,

I was under the impression that it's standard on the 7 speed but not the 6 speed DSG; something to do with protecting the 'box' on a hill start as it's a dry plate system as opposed to the wet used on the 6.

Well, I hope you're right but it was supposed to be standard on my car ( It is still shown as standard in the latest brochure! ) but it's not actually fitted! There's a post on the Superb forum with a gathering group of disgruntled owners! Skoda's answer doesn't seem very helpful! :no:

Oh dear this doesn't sound like it will be as easy as it should :wonder:, hope it still comes with the esp as standard now will have to investigate the HHC further.

Got cornering lights on mine, just been out to test them and very impressed. Very good for low speed corners and I imagine will be very useful when turning into dark country roads.

Headlights are a big step forward from the pre FL model. Like a proper car now in the old car I always felt like I was driving one of those scaletrix cars with lights!
