1.8 TSi DSG remap results?

Featured Replies

thry might giv you a different less agressive map on dsg compared to manual if this is the case. for instance bluefin do a DSG and a manual map for the k04, which they did seem to repeatedly mix up on them, but thats another story :giggle:

the best bet is to get in contact with the tuners. beware that alot of them quote these huge numbers that you wont get unless you have a high reading dyno. also find as many reviews as poss on the tunrs before buying, and dont skimp on your expensive new car.

the us forums will be a good start, they havehad the TSI over there for longer than the UK, so chances are APR have software available.

also try seatcupra.net as those guys are all remap crazy

id also look into mk5 golf forums and the audi forums. they have all had the TSI longer than the skoda.

My remap is from Shark Performance, I can't give any figures as they don't supply any but I'd estimate the power as being around 200hp but have no way of knowing for sure.

What I can say is that the car is much improved for overtaking, previously I felt that the 1.8TSi offered good low low to midrange torque but was a bit flat above 4000rpm, now the power just keeps on coming and it now pulls much more convincingly all the way to the red line. Fuel economy has also improved since the remap (though that may be partly down to the warmer weather) and I'm getting around 39mpg at the moment, which is pretty good for the performance on offer.

Ben @ Shark stated BHP is up 40bhp (ie. 200bhp) and torque was up 65lb/ft (ie. 249lb/ft). Best money I've ever spent.

Manual or DSG7 ?

Manual or DSG7 ?

Mine's a manual. Speak to Ben @ Shark to see if his Stage 1 remap is suitable for the DSG7. He may be able to reduce the torque to suit this gearbox but you won't know that until you speak to him.
