Kumho KU31's discontinued..?

Featured Replies

Sad day today, just rang up one of the kumho dealers near me and they said the KU31's been discontinued and has been superceeded by the KU11's.. :wonder:

Im pretty sure ku11's are poo compared to 31's as I've had them on the 1.4 :|

I went to get two Kumhos today from a Kumho stockist - had them in 205 45 16 but not with a 'W' speed rating - on back order. I thought the KU31 had been replaced by the KU17??

I've got my heart set on Kumhos or Rainsports but both are on back order :( . Only want to replace the rears as they're 'V' rated (on the car when I bought it) - plenty of tread on them so I'll just wait unti either Kumhos or Rainsports become available in 205 45W 16.

Yep, I've been seeing 'no stock' on the KU31s at Camskill for a while - was going to order a pair last time round, as I liked them last time and I ran them and the price is good

Will have to see what they replace them with really! On the KU11s, are you sure you don't mean the KH11s? The KU range is Ecsta Sport, the KH is just Ecsta - so they will be different.

KU17's are available and AFAIK have replaced the KU31. Mate has just fitted them on his Connect ST.

As for the Falken's, I have them fitted now and would not reccomend them.

just managed to track down some ku31's from tyres-pneus-online

a little pricier than camskill, but i only needed to replace one damaged tyre...

Why do you need W rated tyres? A V rating is fine for a Fabia vRS

No v rated will void your insurance if you had a crash.

W rated from the factory, anything lower could cause problems.

I believe its down to the weight of the engine not the speed rating of the car.

Thats what i was told anyway.....

I bought my car with all 4 tyres being V rated. My new wheels came with W rated tyres but didnt think anything of it. I thought the load rating was what determined the weight as opposed to the speed rating?

buy uniroyal rainsport 2, i was gonna get the Kumhos but then went for uniroyal as camskill were out of stock so i got uniroyals off tyre traders came to 125quids for 2 including delivery

Ive run Uniroyal rainsports for 2 years - great tyre
